Syndicates are player-created organizations that allow groups to work together, share resources, and build power in Night City. Whether you're forming a tech collective, street gang, or corporate shadow team, syndicates provide structure for group play.
What Are Syndicates?
Syndicates are persistent player organizations featuring: - Membership System - Invite players to join your organization - Rank Structure - Hierarchical leadership with different powers - Private Channels - Exclusive communication for members only - Group Identity - Shared name, motto, and purpose - Organized Play - Coordinate activities and build influence together
Syndicates are NOT: - Temporary groups or parties - Required for gameplay (completely optional) - Mechanically required for any content - Restricted to specific roles
Syndicate Types
Syndicates come in various flavors reflecting Night City's diverse power structures:
Tech Ring
Theme: Technology specialists and innovators Focus: Crafting, hacking, technical expertise Ideal For: Console Cowboys, Techs, innovation-focused players
Street Crew
Theme: Street-level gang or criminal organization Focus: Territory control, street-level operations Ideal For: Street Samurai, Fixers, street-focused characters
Corporate Team
Theme: Corporate shadow operation or special unit Focus: Corporate interests, espionage, high-stakes operations Ideal For: Professional characters, corporate-aligned players
Medical Collective
Theme: Underground medical network Focus: Healing, medical services, pharmaceutical operations Ideal For: Street Medics, support-focused players
Mixed Syndicate
Theme: Diverse group with varied skills Focus: Versatility, covering all skill areas Ideal For: Any role combination, diverse groups
Syndicate Structure
Ranks and Hierarchy
Standard rank structure (from highest to lowest):
1. Founder - Powers: Complete control over syndicate - Can: Invite, kick, promote/demote anyone, disband syndicate, modify settings - Responsibilities: Lead the organization, make final decisions
2. Lieutenant - Powers: High-level management authority - Can: Invite members, kick lower ranks, promote to Operator, manage channel - Responsibilities: Assist founder, manage day-to-day operations
3. Operator - Powers: Recruitment and communication management - Can: Invite new members, manage communication channel - Responsibilities: Recruit members, facilitate communication
4. Associate - Powers: Basic membership - Can: Access syndicate channel, participate in activities - Responsibilities: Contribute to syndicate goals
Membership
Joining a syndicate: 1. Receive invitation from syndicate member with invite powers 2. Accept the invitation 3. Automatically granted Associate rank (unless promoted immediately) 4. Gain access to private channel and syndicate features
Leaving a syndicate: - You can leave at any time - Use syndicate commands to resign - Founder can kick members (except themselves) - No penalties for leaving
Advancing in rank: - Leadership promotes members based on contribution and trust - Promotions are permanent until demoted or member leaves - Higher ranks gain more organizational powers
Syndicate Communication
Private Channels
Each syndicate has a private communication channel: - Members-only - Only syndicate members can see messages - Persistent - Available anytime, works like other channels - Group coordination - Plan activities, share information - Social bonding - Build relationships with organization members

Creating a Syndicate
Requirements
To found a syndicate you need: - Sufficient character level (check with staff) - NuYen cost to establish organization (varies) - Approval from staff (prevents abuse) - Syndicate name (must be unique) - Syndicate description and purpose
Founding process: 1. Meet the requirements 2. Decide on syndicate type, name, motto 3. Submit application to staff 4. Pay founding fee 5. Receive syndicate upon approval
