Character Roles

Character roles define your playstyle, starting skills, equipment, and cyberware in Chatsubo. Each role offers a unique path through Night City's neon-lit streets. Choose carefully - your role shapes your entire experience.

The Five Roles

Chatsubo offers five distinct character roles, each with specialized abilities and progression paths:

1. Console Cowboy

2. Street Samurai

3. Fixer

4. Tech

5. Street Medic


Console Cowboy

Tagline: "Elite hackers and matrix specialists"

Role Identity: You jack into cyberspace, navigating the digital matrix where data is power and ICE is deadly. Console Cowboys are the elite hackers of Night City - you don't need chrome or guns when you can shut down security systems, crack corporate databases, and manipulate the digital world around you.

Progression Path

Street Samurai

Tagline: "Combat specialists with military-grade cyberware"

Role Identity: You are chrome and reflexes - a cybernetically-enhanced warrior built for combat. Street Samurai blend human skill with machine precision, turning their bodies into weapons. You live by the blade and die by the code.

Role Identity: You know people. You know secrets. You know how to make things happen. Fixers are the connectors of Night City - you broker deals, trade information, and make the impossible possible. Your network is your power.

Role Identity: You build, modify, and repair the technology that keeps Night City running. Techs are the engineers and mechanics - you can craft custom gear, install cyberware, and repair anything from cyberdecks to combat armor. If it's got circuits, you can make it better.

Role Progression

Early Levels (1-5)

Late Levels (16+)

Master your role's ultimate abilities. Acquire legendary equipment. Become a Night City legend.

Changing Roles

Roles are permanent. Choose carefully during character creation - you cannot change your role later. Your role defines your identity and progression path throughout the game.
